Cautionary guidelines are given from the founder of Biofield Tuning in the following conditions:
Active Cancer, Terminal Illness, End of Life: the body systems and detox pathways may be too compromised and the body may not have the resources to manage the newly introduced energetic input.
Pregnancy: the tuning fork vibrations could potentially cause a detox or overwhelm the already overextended system.
Pacemaker or other electrical medical devices (Medtronic pumps, neural implants): tuning fork vibrations could interfere with these devices.
Recent concussions: the brain is swollen and it takes a while for the inflammation to resolve; a minimum of 3 months is recommended before using Biofield Tuning on the head.
Morbid obesity: suppressed emotions can be held in adipose tissue and may result in uncomfortable and unpredictable detoxification.
Heavy metal toxicity: Biofield Tuning may result in uncomfortable and unpredictable detoxification.
Considerations for using weighted forks on the body include the following:
Varicose veins: working with weighted tuning forks directly on varicose veins could release blood clots. No ill effects have been reported using weighted tuning forks on or around spider veins.
Fractured bones: working with weighted tuning forks directly on a broken or fractured bone could interfere with the healing process.
Dental anomalies: using weighted tuning forks directly on implants or broken teeth could cause them to shift.
Metal implants (rods, screws and plates): Direct pressure with weighted tuning forks may cause discomfort however gentle pressure around the area may be supportive.
